Learn About Each Room:
The Bathroom
VIDEO TIPS - The BathroomThe bathroom is for vanity, aging, health, wellness and body image issues of all types. It’s both where you take care of yourself (don’t forget to floss!) and also scrutinize your so-called flaws (is that another wrinkle?) We say get away from the mirror, step away from the scale, and focus on the floss.
Sharing Stories
Here are a few of the shared stories in the book and you’ll find strategies for working on them there too.
- I refuse to even get on the scale. I don’t want to know the number.
- I don’t feel old, so why do I have to look old?
- Life would be perfect if I lost weight, so why don’t I do it?
- I never thought I’d have lipo, but then I finally did it.
- I’m so self-conscious about my body. I feel too fat to get married.
- I have to exercise every day or I feel like I will get flabby.
- After that health scare I feel like I want to live before it’s too late.
- When I hate myself, I take it out on everyone around me.
Now we’d love to hear some of your own ”bathroom” stories. Think of them as seeds (of discontent) that make you want to change something going on in your life. The first step to any meaningful shift is to recognize what is wrong, or what is bringing you down (the seed) and then trying out a new approach or strategy (we call it a key process). You can share in the Key Processes section and let others know how it went. If it was a winner or you “cleaned up” the mess, you will have a takeaway idea (a pearl) and we encourage you to post your pearl for others to see.
