I love to clean and clear my head. It's sometimes a meditative act, the scrubbing the food off the the plates, the laundry folding. I know some women iron anything, socks, underwear, towels, just in order to keep their arms moving methodically back and fourth. It's... drumroll... your tenth room! This is when you calm yourself, soothe your brian by cleaning as a way of thinking.
The important question is what are you thinking about? The things that bring you down, brought you stress, made you upset? Try turning that on its head: think of things that bring you joy, or calm or happiness. For me it's time with my family, friends, laughter, relaxed leisure time with my teenagers, watching silly TV or strolling the neighborhood and talking. I also love being outside, biking or taking in the scenery while running. Whatever it is for you , don't be shy about putting those things at the top of your to do list. Instead of all the "should do's" try to add a few "want to's" to every day. Go to the mall, catch a flick, have a cup of coffee with a friend. Make time for those joys and the rest will follow.
And remember; you deserve to be happy! It's part of being healthy.

The more my axons and dendrites criss cross the more I drag out the vacuum ad start to clean. The messier the internal, the more OCD the the interior, of my home, that is. I want it like a shrine, this unlived in piece of artwork that is not violated by the messy habits and attitudes of others. If I invite you in, don't violate me.There is something calming about neat stacks, cupboards, shelving...but don't move a blessed thing. Perhaps my scene, or scenario, is my protection from invasion of one who could hurt me if I literally or figuratively let them in. That's it..home invasion. Head invasion. I am still dealing with the mad dog in the basement and the evils stashed in the attic. Life as drama; scenes, not situations. People- what I see, perceive, ignore, real, unreal, always shifting. Time to clean house.
