We kicked it off with a party!

Last night was like my bat mitzvah. Except I never actually had one. But I felt like everyone I knew was in the same room, ie Monkey Bar, celebrating the fact that I had accomplished an amazing feat, which is to say, writing a book with a co-author, in order to help other women live their happiest and healtiest lives, inside and out. I loved every minute. At the event were: Charlie Rose, Evelyn Lauder, Dylan Lauren, NY Times Executive Editor Bill Keller, New York Magazine editor Adam Moss, and various producers from NBC, ABC, CBS, plus members of the daily press, and old friends from all my magazine jobs, including editors in chief and those I count as closest colleagues. Also there, and sparkling in her beautiful purple dress was Hoda Kotb, a co-host of the Today Show and a close pal now that she and I have bonded by doing a triathlon together. She shocked and surprised and delighted me this morning by talking all about the party on air. Here is her clip. Thanks everyone for the love and support and now it's on to our pub date, next Tuesday. I feel so lucky. Grateful!

PS We hung out for dinner and who should show up but Graydon Carter of VF and owner of Monkey Bar, with none other than Mick Jagger. He looked so fit you would have thought he was one of my triathlon teammates. Very very cool. I thought my 14 year old daughter was going to faint. Suddenly mom, meaning me, had a really cool party. Thanks Graydon. And everyone who made it happen!!!!
